F120 Fully Rugged Tablet – The World’s First Fully Rugged Tablet as a Copilot+ PC

To qualify as a Copilot+ PC, a device must include an NPU (Neural Processor Unit) capable of 40+ TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second), have a minimum of 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage, and support at least one form of biometric security authentication.

Shaped by years of proven deployment across key industries, the V120 builds on Getac’s top-selling V110, incorporating real-world feedback into a refined convertible-hinge design that allows the device to look like a tablet, meeting the evolving needs of frontline professionals.

At the heart of the V120 is an Intel® CoreTM Ultra 200H Series processor with integrated Intel® ArcTM GPUs and Intel® Turbo Boost technology, delivering efficient AI acceleration and smooth multitasking across demanding applications. The standard configuration features 8GB of DDR5 memory and a 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD, with optional upgrades to 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD for users who require even greater capacity.

Both the F120 and V120 feature a larger 12.2-inch LumiBond display with Smart Touch and Getac sunlight readable technology, upgraded from 11.6 inches in their predecessors. The V120 delivers 1,000 nits of brightness for clear visibility across vehicles and mobile workstations. For outdoor-heavy use in direct sunlight, the F120 boosts brightness to 1,200 nits. With a new narrow-bezel design, both devices are thinner and lighter than the previous generation despite the increased screen size, improving mobility without compromising durability.

Seamless Connectivity and Rugged Performance

Designed for always-on field operations, both devices offer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for fast, stable wireless connectivity. Dual Thunderbolt™ 4 Type-C ports are standard on both models, with the V120 offering an optional third port for additional peripheral flexibility. For users working in remote locations, additional connectivity options include a dedicated GPS module, 4G LTE, 5G Sub-6, with Dual SIM (Nano-SIM 4FF and e-SIM).

Both new devices also feature Getac’s LifeSupport hot-swappable battery technology for all-day productivity, while additional high-capacity batteries are available for even longer periods of operation away from charging facilities. They also include a robust suite of data security features including TPM 2.0 as standard, with additional security options including Intel vPro® Technology, smart card reader, and Absolute Persistence® if required.

Like most Getac devices, the F120 and V120 are MIL-STD-810H and IP66 certified and can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -29°C to 63°C (-20°F to 145°F). The F120 is also drop resistant up to 6ft (1.8m), while the V120 is drop resistant up to 4ft (1.2m) and features enhanced shock-absorbing corners for additional protection. Optional salt fog certification and ANSI/UL compliance make both devices well suited for use in corrosive, regulated, and high-risk environments.

The ceremony was presided over by Shri K.V. Ramani, Founder and Chancellor of Sai University. Shri Ashank Desai, Founder and Chairman of Mastek Ltd., and a Founder Member and Former Chairman of NASSCOM, attended as the Chief Guest, while Padma Shri Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal, President and Former Director of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata; Shri Sriram Panchu, Senior Advocate, Madras High Court; and Shri M.K. Santhanaraman, Chartered Accountant and Fellow Member of ICAI, ICSI, and ICWAI, participated in the event as Guests of Honour.

Honorary Degrees Awarded

Sai University conferred the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) on Shri Ashank Desai in recognition of his contributions to India’s information technology, software development sector, and philanthropic activities in education and on Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal for his leadership and research in the fields of soft computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

In his address, Shri Ashank Desai emphasized the importance of aligning career goals with personal purpose.

“Success is meaningful only when it is linked to purpose. Find what you truly value and pursue it with sincerity and skill,” he said.

Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal, in his acceptance remarks, highlighted the importance of academic integrity and humility.

“Education should not end with a degree. Continuous learning, honesty, and humility must guide every professional,” he stated.

Chancellor K.V. Ramani: Vision for Global Expansion

In his presidential address, Chancellor Shri K.V. Ramani reiterated Sai University’s commitment to establishing itself as India’s first international multidisciplinary university.

Vice Chancellor’s Report

Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajith Abraham presented the annual report, detailing Sai University’s academic and research achievements. He noted that Sai University currently has 56 full-time faculty members with international experience, has hosted over 200 academic and research events, and secured ₹1.36 crore in research grants from national funding agencies.

“Sai University continues to focus on teaching excellence, research innovation, and institutional development. Our graduates are encouraged to align their ambitions with social responsibility,” he said.

He also administered the Graduation Oath, in which students pledged to uphold ethical values and use their knowledge for societal advancement.

Guest of Honour Addresses

Shri Sriram Panchu, Senior Advocate and Director of the International Mediation Institute, advised graduates to maintain balance and professionalism in all aspects of life.

“Hard work remains the most reliable path to success. Whatever you undertake, give it your best,” he said.

Shri M.K. Santhanaraman encouraged graduates to remain focused and disciplined.

“Focus and perseverance are essential for professional success. Liberal education provides a strong foundation for adaptability and growth,” he noted.

Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal also discussed the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence, urging students to ensure technology development remains centered on human welfare.

Graduating Class of 2024

A total of 50 students were awarded degrees across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Nine medals were conferred for academic excellence. Three students completed semester-abroad programs at Dartmouth College (USA) and New England College (USA) under Sai University’s international collaboration initiatives.

From the cadences of Scottish ballads and Irish airs to the spiritual call of Baul fakirs and the regional Indian classical music, Rupantar celebrates Tagore’s genius for transcreation and integration.

Through soul-stirring live music, expressive dance, and trilingual narration (Hindi, English and Bengali), the evening traces how Tagore redefined cultural boundaries and made music a vehicle of inner awakening and shared humanity.

The Journey So Far: Discovering Tagore

RUPANTAR marks the fifth and final chapter in the Discovering Tagore series—a cultural odyssey curated by Innishari to make Tagore’s legacy accessible, immersive, and alive in today’s times.

The series has included:

  • Nirjharer Swapnabhanga – A musical narrative of Tagore’s early life, creative awakening, and emotional world.
  • Ekla Chalo Re – A dramatic evocation of his many meanings of freedom—from political to spiritual, through music, dances, video clips and powerful narration.

Sonali Kothari is the Founder and Abundance Ambassador at Innishari, a platform dedicated to curating immersive experiences that explore life’s deeper rhythms through art, community, and storytelling.

With nearly 20 years of experience across education, branding, publishing, and UX research, Sonali’s journey has always been rooted in human connection and creative transformation. Her career has spanned the corporate and the contemplative—from conducting soft-skills workshops for women (REJOICE) to staging the acclaimed theatrical adaptation of “99 Women” (2016 – a French play, staged in Pune with 99 women on stage, several for the first time), and from serving as an educator with The Akanksha Foundation for underserved children to becoming a certified Yoga and Wellness Educator.
